Mother of Alabama 5-Star commit fires back at Saban helping Tide recruit narrative

Multiple members of opposing fan bases are suggesting Alabama football’s recent dominance on the recruiting trail is due to Nick Saban being involved.

The Crimson Tide currently have commitments from five 2026 five-star commits. Xavier Griffin is one of those prospects.

Griffin’s mother has noticed the trend of opposing fan bases pushing the narrative Saban is still actively recruiting for the Tide and set the record straight from her perspective.

“Let me make this clear for (Xavier Griffin) recruitment when it come to Alabama. Makes me mad to hear (Kalen DeBoer) can’t recruit because our coach and his staff did a great job! I met Saban once but he is not the one that offered or talked to us at any point. (Christian Robinson) was and is the (G.O.A.T) that got my son to Bama!! Love our staff and can’t wait! Roll Tide,” Griffin’s mother posted to X.

Alabama is still actively recruiting multiple 2026 prospects and is hoping to add to an already stacked class.
