Alabama football offered Elijah Haven after getting him on campus for an unofficial visit in June.
Haven attends Dunham High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is considered a five-star recruit and is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class. Haven’s June visit to Alabama has him looking forward to building his relationship with the Tide’s coaching staff.
“The facilities are top notch, but the coaches were so welcoming to me and my family on our visit,” Haven said. “And I was able to get an offer. So, that was really nice. But overall, the coaches they were just great, and I’m looking forward to continuing our relationship.”
Haven, similar to most recruits, has watched Alabama have success under Nick Saban for most of his life. This success and his respect for Kalen DeBoer’s staff contribute to his interest in Alabama football.
“Alabama is a great program,” Haven told Touchdown Alabama. “You’ve seen the historic success of that program with what coach Saban was able to come in and do, but just a great program, overall. Great coaches. The way they go about how they play football is amazing.”

The five-star sees similarities between him and Michael Penix, who started at quarterback at Washington under DeBoer. Haven feels Penix’s success is a great example of DeBoer’s ability to develop the position.
“We’ve seen it,” Haven said. “You got an opportunity to coach Michael Penix, who is with the Falcons right now. You can see there is a lot of similarities in our game a little bit. So, as far as the development, their top-notch. We’ve seen it. I was able to meet their quarterback coach, Nick Sheridan, get to know him on a deeper level. Me and my family were. He is a great coach as well.”
Alabama let Haven know they wanted him to keep working during his visit.
The Louisiana product compiled 4,000 yards of total offense and 56 touchdowns as a sophomore.
