NCAAF betting: A look ahead to CFB Week 4

The Week 4 college football slate is packed with some very exciting matchups. Whether it's an in-conference matchup or a battle to prove legitimacy, this week's games have something for everyone.

There is also plenty of room to wager if you want to get in on the action.

Here's a look at CFB Week 4.

The Over for ULM at Texas

There is a lot of excitement in the Lone Star State since the Longhorns took over at No. 1 in the AP ranking thanks to a 3-0 start in their first SEC campaign. Even so, the betting lines ahead of Saturday's home game against University of Louisiana-Monroe are staggering.

DraftKings lists Texas as a whopping 44-point favorite with the over/under set at 52.5. According to TheScore.com, 99% of money on that game is being placed on the Over.

Steve Sarkisian hasn't said yet whether Quinn Ewers or Arch Manning will start under center. Since both QBs have led Texas to 50-plus point wins this season, that Over is looking pretty sweet.

Big day for the Sooner State

Saturday is a big day for the state of Oklahoma. The No. 14 Oklahoma State Cowboys host the No. 12 Utah Utes in a fight for Big 12 dominance, while the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners host the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers in SEC action.

Both home teams are narrow underdogs at DK — OSU is a 2-point underdog and OU is a 4-point underdog, respectfully — and will play in games where defense is everything. The Sooners are going up against a deep Vols defense while the Cowboys' own defense will have to carry the weight for an offense that can't get Ollie Gordon and its run game going.

Kudos to those brave enough to bet on Oklahoma teams this weekend, because these games could be nailbiters.

Biggest matchup for the Big Ten?

Will the Ohio State-Marshall game come down to the wire? Probably not. That makes Saturday's game between No. 18 Michigan and No. 11 USC the must-watch of the weekend.

Pro Football Focus notes that both teams lost last year's starters to the first round of NFL Draft, and the Trojans have had a better time of rebounding so far.

The Arizona Republic agrees and is backing USC to cover the 5.5-point spread. They note the Trojans "have a defined quarterback situation with Miller Moss, and USC has committed just one turnover." That's a plus compared to Michigan, which has "an unsettled quarterback situation with Davis Warren and Alex Orji, and they have a -4 turnover ratio through three weeks."
