Nebraska at Maryland odds: Opening point spread revealed

As Big Ten play heats up, Nebraska will make the trip to Maryland in Week 7. Ahead of the matchup, the early point spread has been released.

The Cornhuskers opened as 5.5-point road favorites over the host Terrapins, according to BetMGM. The over-under also opened at 48.5.

Nebraska and Maryland have not played each other since 2023 – a 13-10 Terrapins victory in Lincoln. This year’s game comes as both teams look to make some noise in a crowded Big Ten.

Maryland put up 384 total yards in the last matchup against Nebraska, but found itself trailing 10-7 entering the fourth quarter. However, two field goals from Jack Howes in the final frame sent the Terrapins to the victory, hanging on to take down Nebraska in Matt Rhule’s first season at the helm.

Maryland is coming off its first loss of the season in Week 6, falling to Washington in College Park. Malik Washington had 219 yards on 30 of 49 passing, but the running game struggled mightily en route to the 24-20 effort.

Nebraska, meanwhile, was able to come away with a resounding home victory over Michigan State in Week 6. The Cornhuskers were able to force three turnovers to create separation and take down the Spartans to improve to 4-1 on the year, as well as pick up their first Big Ten win of the season.

That all sets the stage for the Week 7 matchup in College Park as Nebraska takes on Maryland. The Big Ten race is getting interesting, especially considering a key result in Westwood as Penn State suffered a stunning upset loss to UCLA in the Bruins’ first win of the year.
