Nebraska fans try to woo Urban Meyer to Lincoln with 'We want Urban' chant

Scott Frost is out at Nebraska. Interim head coach Mickey Joseph is probably not long for the gig either, if Nebraska's showing against No. 6 Oklahoma is any indication of what he'll be able to do in Lincoln.

Is Nebraska the "sexy" college football coaching job it once was? Frankly, no. The '90s grow further and further away each year and the Huskers haven't exactly taken over the Big Ten as it was expected they would when they joined the conference in 2011.

In fact, the Huskers are about to be on their fourth coach if their Big Ten era, not counting interim coaches, and they're a rather mediocre 72-66 as a Big Ten program. Just looking at the Frost years, Nebraska is 16-31 since 2008.

So no, Nebraska is not the powerhouse it once was, but the Huskers do have a rabid fanbase and apparently a ton of money to throw around.

Speaking of that fanbase, Nebraska football fans were loud and clear about who they'd like to see wear the big headset moving into the future. In fact, they tried to directly recruit him on Saturday morning.

Urban Meyer....step right up?

Nebraska fans may want to be careful. Frost seemed like a homerun hire but he turned out too good to be true.

Considering Meyer's latest foray into coaching -- his disastrous 2-11 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars that saw him canned before his first full season as coach was through -- perhaps its time to put him in the "too good to be true" category as well.
