Nebraska Football has been looking for quarterbacks throughout the course of this week, and they are flying out to Washington on Wednesday to meet with former Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward. This was reported by 247Huskers.

Ward was one of the most explosive players in college football last season. He tallied 3,735 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has been one of the most consistent players in college football over the past couple of seasons. Ward has recorded 6,968 passing yards, 48 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions in two seasons of play.

Ward has quick decision-making ability, and has a tremendous pocket presence. He identifies his targets quickly and gets the ball out. He has good mechanics, and progresses through his reads quickly before making his throws.

The quarterback can also run a bit, as he had 144 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the season.

Ward could be a good fit for Nebraska football

Ward would be a good fit for a Nebraska football system that has young playmakers. Malachi Coleman and Jaylen LIoyd fit the bill there. He would be able to get them the ball downfield, and let them make plays.

Nebraska football has already met with several quarterbacks this week. Most recently, they were able to visit former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord. There was also a bit of movement this week in the Nebraska football quarterback room, as Jeff Sims entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.

Ward could be the one-year rental needed, as Nebraska football looks to develop Daniel Kaelin. He is one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the transfer portal however so Nebraska football would undoubtedly have competition there. At the very least, the program is meeting with him and checking off all of their boxes at the quarterback position.

The Huskers have had a busy week as they search for a quarterback. Ward would be a good get as the program looks to take the next step.
