Ohio State moved to 6-1 on the season with a win over Nebraska that did not come easy. The Buckeyes were outscored 11-7 in the second half but hung on for a 21-17 victory.

Following a game on the road at Oregon then a bye week — it was the first game for the Buckeyes at home in a few weeks.

After the game, it was made known by the Cornhuskers that the fans in attendance had a decent impact on the game.

“When you're on the road, in this environment, with the noise and all the things that are happening … Credit to the Ohio State fans,” Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said after the game. “What a great environment. The redcoats, from the minute you get here they're nice and friendly to you but when the game starts, they're here to make that hard.”

Ohio State had 104,830 fans in attendance for their sixth win of the season. It just happened to be the first close game the Buckeyes have won with the other close one being a 32-31 loss to the Ducks.

It was Rhule’s first time taking on Ohio State as the head coach of Nebraska, and it appears that Buckeye Nation left their imprint on him.

There were times when the crowd was quite disgruntled with the offense and even some booing was heard. Ohio State’s season low of 21 points was accompanied by just 285 total yards. The Buckeyes barely edged out the Cornhuskers, who had 273 yards.

Ohio State will have a tough environment to play in next week when they take on Penn State and it will take their best game of the season to win. For now, Buckeye Nation can feel good about doing their part against Nebraska.
