The Michigan Wolverines' passing game wasn't much help last season as the Wolverines stumbled to an 8-5 record in coach Sherrone Moore's first season.
A strong three-game flurry to finish off the season with wins against Northwestern, Ohio State and Alabama obscured the team's biggest, most glaring flaw, its almost complete lack of a passing game.
This season, the Wolverines are heading back to Michigan Stadium with a revamped passing attack under new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsay and first year potential starter Byrce Underwood at the QB spot.
This weekend, a prediction from one of Michigan's most familiar veteran names on an incoming wide receiver from the transfer portal inspired hope for a turnaround in Ann Arbor this season.
"He's just a freak, really. And he's really a dawg," Michigan receiver Semaj Morgan said of Donaven McCulley, who joined the Wolverines this offseason from Indiana by way of the transfer portal.
At 6-foot-5, 203 pounds, the Indianapolis native is expected to add a whole new dimension to the Wolverines' passing game with the nation's top recruit Bryce Underwood the most likely pick for starting quarterback.
"He really reminds me of a taller version of myself," Morgan added about McCulley.
"He really got that mentality to him. So it's like, you that big, you that talented, you got all the confidence in the world.
"I don't think nobody is going to be able to stop him this year to be honest with you. And I believe that wholeheartedly."
