Earlier this week, news broke that Michigan football had landed transfer portal target Josh Priebe, an offensive lineman out of Northwestern University. Today, another Big Ten transfer from Northwestern was targeted by Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines: Rod Heard II, a senior defensive back from Farmington Hills, MI.

New Michigan football transfer target emerges in Northwestern football defensive back

After landing a transfer portal lineman from Northwestern, it appears that Michigan football is back in pursuit of another Big Ten Target. Rod Heard II, a native of the state of Michigan and a senior Big Ten veteran for the Wildcats, announced on Friday that he has been offered by Michigan.

Yesterday, Michigan football missed on a major transfer target: Domani Jackson out of USC. Seeing as the Wolverines need more defensive back depth next fall — as they are losing Mike Sainristil and Josh Wallace — Jim Harbaugh got back to work in the portal, targeting a new DB transfer on Friday.

During Heard’s few seasons with Northwestern, Heard recorded nearly 200 tackles, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions. He also forced five fumbles and recorded two sacks with the Wildcats. Keep an eye on this Big Ten transfer portal target, as the Wolverines need some defensive backs and he could fit the bill perfectly.
