Newly introduced bill could give Georgia Bulldogs NIL advantage

In the NIL and transfer portal era, the playing field has never been more level. Which means every minuscule advantage can go a long way, and the state of Georgia has recently introduced a bill that could give college programs in the state a leg up on the competition.

According to the bill, all NIL compensation for athletes would be exempt from state income tax, which in Georgia currently sits at around 5.39%.

This would put the Georgia schools on par with other states like Florida, Texas, and Tennessee that currently do not have state income tax, three places Kirby Smart is constantly recruiting against in the Southeastern Conference.
