NFL coach: Kyle Pitts is 'best tight end I've ever evaluated by far'

Kyle Pitts has become one of the hottest names among draft experts and fans, as the former Florida tight end's stock has skyrocketed over the past few months, with some believing he could be the first non-quarterback taken in the draft.

But considering how rare it is for a tight end to be taken this high, some critics have wondered if Pitts is really worth the amount of attention he's received. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler spoke with "a veteran NFL offensive coach of nearly 15 years" who said that Pitts is on a tier all his own when it comes to tight ends coming out of college.

"Best tight end film I've ever evaluated—by far," the unnamed coach told Fowler. "Playing him like a traditional tight end is like leaving a Porsche in the garage. You've got to get him out and move him around."

It's hard to disagree with the coach's assessment, as anyone who has watched Pitts will likely rave about his perfect blend of superhuman athleticism and insane skill. His high ceiling as a prospect have linked him to several teams in the top 10, including the Atlanta Falcons at no. 4 and the Cincinnati Bengals at no. 5.
