Jaxson Dart will be sold like hotcakes at the 2025 NFL draft, according to Jeremy Fowler, ESPN reporter. Dart, who last played for the Ole Miss Rebels as a quarterback, is being shown interest by a number of teams, including the New York Giants, the New Orleans Saints, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dart split his college football career with the USC Trojans and the Ole Miss Rebels from 2022 to 2024. In his senior year with Ole Miss, the quarterback threw for a total of 4,279 yards, scoring 29 touchdowns, managing six interceptions for the team.
Jeremy Fowler expects Jaxson Dart to be up there in the first round of the draft, much higher in comparison to Shedeur Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes alumnus. Plenty of comparisons have been made between Dart and Sanders, and the two have also been professed to be close friends who communicate with each other often.
While Dart is being hailed as a first-round pick, the same treatment has not been given to Shedeur Sanders. Sanders has been criticized plenty this NFL offseason, most particularly for his arrogant nature and weak throwing skills.
Among the top three teams that are keen on bringing Jaxson Dart to their roster, the New York Giants seem to have done the most homework. The Giants have managed to visit the Ole Miss Rebels’ facilities a number of times to learn about Dart. New York is desperate to shake up their locker room after a dismal 2024 NFL season. Last year, the New York Giants finished at the bottom of the NFC East after winning only three games and losing 14.
While Jaxson Dart is expected to be among the big names in the very first round of the 2025 NFL draft, the quarterback does not come without limitations. In a recent conversation with renowned football coach Jon Gruden, Dart’s flaws in his playing style were circled out for closer inspection.
“I think it’s reckless, I think it’s careless, and I think it’s dangerous. You’re the only guy that can’t play with a sore right shoulder. And we can’t play without you.” Jon Gruden said to Jaxson Dart.
Jaxson Dart’s draft stock has been going both ways as more and more information about the player unravels. However, it is safe to say that Dart will be one of the most hyped rookies in the 2025 NFL season, no matter which team he plays for.
