NFL scout predicts edge rushers will dominate first-round picks
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

The 2022 NFL Draft is not believed to be strong on quarterback prospects. However, it may be stronger on players who pursue the quarterbacks.

Daniel Jeremiah, who provides draft analysis for NFL Network, said on Twitter Sunday that the draft is going to feature tons of edge rushers selected towards the top.

In Jeremiah’s most recent mock draft , he had seven edge rushers going in the first round. That includes Aidan Hutchinson, Travon Walker, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jermaine Johnson II all going in the top 10. George Karlaftis, David Ojabo and Boye Mafe were the three other pass-rushing prospects he had going in the first round.

The more the NFL has become a passing league, the more important it is to have: quarterbacks who can pass, and defenders who can pressure the quarterback. Teams may be able to load up on pass-rushing talent come April.
