The wait for the 2025 NFL draft is finally over, as 32 prospects will hear their names called and see their dreams come true on Thursday.
Unlike in past drafts, where there has been a consensus on quarterbacks, this year's class has been as unpredictable as ever. Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart went from having a ceiling of being a second-round pick to oddsmakers at ESPN BET giving him -500 odds of being a first-round pick.
As for Colorado Shedeur Sanders, he went from being a contender for the No. 1 overall pick, to now having multiple outlets reporting that he likely falls out of the opening round. While some teams or analysts may be out on him, legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban is not.
He went as far as to call him the "most accurate" player in the draft on ESPN's "College GameDay" ahead of Thursday's draft.
"I'm a Shedeur fan," Saban said. "Because I think he played in a little different style in college because of the players around him. He had to scramble more. But when he can drop...set his feet and throw on time, he's the most accurate guy from the quarterback position of anyone."
Saying Sanders frequently had to scramble during his college career would be an understatement, as he was sacked 152 times in four years with 94 of those coming during his two years at Colorado.
Assuming the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year gets even an adequate offensive line, it should allow him to put his historic accuracy on display. Sanders had a career completion percentage of 71.8%, which is the best in college football history.
Only time will tell when his name is called, but fans are certainly eager to see where he ends up.
