When the curtain came down on the Nick Saban era of Alabama football, it marked the conclusion to one of the most successful coaching tenures in the history of the sport.
Over 17 seasons in Tuscaloosa, Saban led the Crimson Tide to six national championships, and he achieved a staggering 87.4 winning percentage over 230 total games while developing an enviable coaching tree.
As Saban moved on, Kalen DeBoer came in, with the difficult task of continuing such a dominant stretch of Alabama's history.
Though his first season in charge was inconsistent, the Crimson Tide's incoming recruiting class is regarded as one of the nation's best, and Saban has been publicly supportive of his successor at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Now, fans wanting to engage with two generations of Alabama coaches will have the chance to do so, thanks to an online auction that supports the Nick's Kids Foundation, the official charity of Nick and Terry Saban.
Nick and Terry Saban's daughter Kristen announced the auction on Instagram Stories, and all proceeds are set to support the Nick's Kids Foundation's mission "to make a lasting impact on children and families."
As part of the auction, bidders will have the opportunity to watch Alabama face LSU and Oklahoma in home games next season from the Sabans' box at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
They can also bid on a chance to have lunch with DeBoer in his office, or with Saban in his office – which he still maintains on Alabama's campus, and will be followed with an exclusive stadium tour for the winner.
The auction runs from 5 p.m. Central Time on Monday night until 6:30 p.m. Central on Tuesday night, and it solidifies Saban's support for his replacement – for a noble and heartwarming cause.
