Let’s be honest, the road starts for the Penn State football offense have been slow. It’s taken multiple possessions to reach the red zone if not more. This frustration has been easy to overcome for the Nittany Lions so far this season against lesser competition. But that cannot happen on Saturday against Ohio State. Penn State cannot afford to rely on their defense to keep them in the game while the offense figures things out. The Buckeyes are too explosive for this and star running back Nick Singleton has acknowledged this as well ahead of the big game.

Nick Singleton believes this is the key to victory against Ohio State

So many matchups have come down to the final few possessions and Saturday will be no different. But we need to see more urgency from the Penn State football offense from the beginning of the game. Nick Singleton is aware of this and believes it will be key to have a hot start on offense.

Singleton said, “Yeah, that game last year was crazy. Ohio State, they’re a good team. We played literally four quarters to the last minute. Like, I said we gotta finish strong. Obviously, start fast too because Ohio State they’re not going to let down. They’re going to be hyped the whole week, even Saturday. So, we need to have the same energy.”

Nick Singleton has been held in check from an explosive play perspective this Saturday. But how great would it be to see #10 return an opening kickoff for a touchdown to get things started on Saturday? Certainly would help if Penn State can start fast offensively.
