One of the most anticipated games of the 2025 college football season will come in Week 5 of the season at the end of September between the Oregon Ducks and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
In a rematch of the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game, these two top-10, and potentially top-five programs will go head-to-head in a conference clash that could be majorly impactful when it comes to deciding who gets to Indianapolis at the end of the year for the Big Ten Title Game.
On Thursday, a major announcement was made about the game, with NBC releasing the kickoff time of 7:30 p.m. ET, and the Nittany Lions confirming that the university would deploy a "whiteout" atmosphere for the conference clash.
With a capacity of over 106,000, Beaver Stadium is among the biggest venues in all of college sports, and the whiteout theme — which is generally reserved for the biggest game of the year — holds a special place in the hearts of college football fans.
It makes sense that the Nittany Lions are breaking it out for this game against Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

Going into the season, Penn State is widely ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation, with players like QB Drew Allar and RBs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton returning for their final year. Meanwhile, Oregon is widely regarded as a top-10 team leading up to the year, with some ranking them in the top five. The Ducks will have a new-look roster in 2025, but some see them as a darkhorse in the College Football Playoff conversation because of their elite talent, and the continued excellence at the coaching ranks.
The last time these two teams met was in the Big Ten Championship Game in December, with Oregon winning 45-37.
