As the Ducks continue their chase for Jared Curtis, the No. 1 quarterback in the country, it looks like his recruiting process is pretty much wrapped up. He made it known that he'll be announcing his decision on May 5, and before doing so, he made a pretty big change to what would be his last trip to visit Oregon's biggest competition.
Georgia is set to host their "G-Day" spring game this coming Saturday, which is one of their biggest offseason events. Curtis was previously slated to attend, but the latest report from Graham Coffey of Dawgs Central indicates that he has canceled his visit.

On the surface, it could spell bad news for Georgia and good news for Oregon, but digging deeper, it may not be that big of a deal. Apparently, Curtis' high school has prom this weekend, which could be the driving motivator for him electing to cancel his visit.
Plus, Curtis has been on campus in Athens multiple times, and has been in communication with Kirby Smart and the program for years. It's hard to imagine that there's anything left that they could show or tell him that he hasn't already been exposed to.
Still, for Oregon, they're likely happy that their top quarterback target won't be back on campus of their biggest competition just a month before he is set to announce his commitment.
The importance of the last impression isn't one that should be overlooked. That nod now goes to Oregon, with Curtis visiting Eugene last month. Dan Lanning is looking to end the narrative that the Ducks can't land elite quarterback recruits, and pulling Curtis would more than put that conversation to bed. There's less than one month to go before we get an answer on where the elite quarterback will be heading.
