Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns did an excellent job of building their 2025 recruiting class. According to  247Sports, the team had the No. 1-ranked 2025 recruiting class. Their class was led by four five-star recruits, including safety Jonah Williams, defensive lineman Justus Terry, wide receiver Kaliq Lockett and cornerback Kade Phillips.

However, Sarkisian is off to a slower start when it comes to recruits in the 2026 class. As things stand, he has the No. 12-ranked recruiting class for next year. However, on Friday, they got good news as the No. 2-ranked interior offensive lineman, according to On3, in the 2026 class, John Turntine, committed to the Longhorns.

According to a report from Inside Texas on X, Turntine picked the Longhorns over offers from other top programs, including Michigan, Texas A&M and Stanford.

With Turntine joining the Longhorns, it improves the Longhorns' recruiting class. The team has struggled to get top recruits in the same way it did in 2025. However, it still has a few of the top recruits in the nation.

Most notably, the team appears to have its replacement for QB Arch Manning when he declares for the NFL draft. Five-star recruit QB Dia Bell is committed to join the Longhorns as part of the 2026 class.
