No Charges for Dismissed Oregon WR Who Was Arrested

Authorities will not charge former Oregon and Alabama football player Traeshon Holden after he was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on someone after the Lane Co. (Ore.) DA looked at new body cam and surveillance video.

Holden was a key transfer portal addition for Oregon this offseason after he moved in from Alabama, but was dismissed by the Ducks after the school learned he was facing three charges: menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and coercion.

Holden's lawyer, Jacob Houze, said his client is innocent of all wrongdoing.

“Traeshon Holden did nothing wrong,” he said in a statement. 

“The Lane County District Attorney’s thorough review of the evidence has confirmed that. 

"Now that he has been exonerated, he deserves to have his good name back.” 

It's not known if Oregon will allow Holden to return to the football team.

The wide receiver spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide with the bulk of his production coming in the last two years.

Holden finished with 46 catches for 570 yards and seven touchdowns in his career at Alabama, with six of his touchdowns coming last season.

The receiver was projected as a likely starter for Oregon before these issues emerged.
