Noah Sewell is not the first prospect to enter the NFL already being outshined by an older brother. It has been well documented how the Sewell family has overcome adversity coming to Utah and eventually becoming some of the top recruited players in the country. Earning offers as early as seventh grade, Noah decided to follow in his brother’s footsteps and attend Oregon. Like his brother he would turn heads.

While his freshman year was impressive, it was Noah’s sophomore year where he would truly come into his own. Sewell put up an impressive 114 tackles, four sacks, two fumbles, and adding an interception as well. He was truly one of the nation’s top linebackers proving to himself and his family that all their sacrifice had been worth it. As his brother made a name for himself at the NFL level, Noah Sewell was doing the same at the college level. He would be challenged however in his final year.

Switching defensive coordinators and changing into a new system would negatively impact Noah Sewell. His stats took a dive and not due to injuries or lack of playing time. While this may be concerning for those evaluating him as a prospect, he does have NFL bloodlines and the film to make the case for him. Sewell has the versatility to be a sideline to sideline backer as well as rush the passer on third down.

• After being one of the highest rated prospects going into this year, had a massive down year in a new system;
• Prone to getting lured watching the quarterbacks eyes or caught by play action;
• Tends to over pursue at times on outside runs which leads him to miss open field tackles;
• Never missed a game due to injury yet he left early due to multiple;
• The biggest weakness is coverage, hard to trust in the slot especially against athletic tight ends.

Noah Sewell is a freak of nature that will never back down on the field of play. He has his brother as well as uncles to help smooth over the transition from college to the NFL where he will likely find himself in a situation to maximize his strengths, which was not the case last year. Teams that draft Sewell can expect a thumper in the run game as well as a player with intricate knowledge of both sides of the ball. He is best suited to play inside the box and perhaps make the move to an edge due to his ability against offensive lineman. He is a quality player who can also contribute early on special teams.
