Notre Dame football has been on quite a run from a recruiting perspective, and the 2026 class is shaping up very nicely. We have already heard some good things about the 2027 recruiting class, and feedback that head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish staff are receiving. They added a very intriguing offer on Wednesday, and it came in a very familiar area.
The Fighting Irish offered 2027 Omaha (Neb.) Central safety Tory Pittman III, who is one of the more talented defensive backs in the class. If Omaha sounds familiar, it is the city where former Notre Dame All-American safety Xavier Watts played his high school football as well. Throw in the Rezac brothers in the 2024 recruiting class, and the city of Omaha has been very good to the program recently.

Pittman is considered a consensus four-star player by every major recruiting platform. The 247Sports Composite ranking has him pegged as the No. 40 overall player, No. 3 safety, and No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska for the 2027 recruiting class. The On3 Industry ranking has him rated similarly, sitting as the No. 41 overall player and No. 5 safety for the class.
The Nebraska native already has an impressive offer list to date. Some of Pittman's top offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, USC, Penn State, Nebraska, Florida State, Miami, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Kansas among others.
As a junior, Pittman put together an outstanding season for the Omaha Central Eagles. In ten games, the 6-0, 185-pound defender managed to collect 54 total tackles, three interceptions, and one tackle for loss. Pittman was also a playmaker on offense, managing to haul in 26 receptions for 458 yards and five touchdowns.
