Notre Dame football becomes the latest marquee program to offer one of the fastest rising 2027 recruits from the Midwest

It’s early for the 2027 recruiting class, but the tight end group looks very, very good on paper so far. One of the biggest risers at tight end in the class so far is Norwalk (Iowa) High School star Luke Brewer. He might come from a small town, but Brewer brings a big skill set to the table.

Notre Dame has had a tremendous history of developing the tight end position, so when they offer one, other teams and fans tend to listen. They were the latest prominent program  to offer the Iowa star, and that looks to be continuing in a big way from across college football. Brewer has a path to being one of the top ranked tight ends in the entire class when all is said and done.

Brewer is one of the fastest risers this offseason in the 2027 recruiting class. He now tanks as a four-star on the 247Sports Composite ranking. They have him pegged as the No. 213 overall player, No. 14 tight end, and No. 4 player in the state of Iowa. You should expect Brewer’s rise to continue into his junior season.

The 6-4.5, 228-pound athlete has also seen his offer list to continue to grow as well. Some do the top programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami, Nebraska, Auburn, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Kansas, and Stanford among others.

With Eli Raridon and Kevin Bauman both exhausted their eligibility after the 2025 season, Notre Dame will need to reload the room moving forward. If Brewer does end up with the Irish, he will be arriving on campus when Ty Washington will also be out of eligibility. There’s a chance that Cooper Flanigan may be as well depending on how he recovers from his Achilles injury.

Brewer is going to end up being an elite prospect down the road, so Notre Dame better be ready for the fight. He’s incredibly talented, and a lot of big time programs have already taken notice.
