Notre Dame is making a lot of moves in 2026 running back recruiting right now. They have put themselves in a great position with Texas star Javian Osborne. The Irish staff is also in hot pursuit of both Jonas Walton and Brian Bonner, among others.

New running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider appears to be making quite the statement since coming over from Penn State this offseason. It’s exciting to think what Coach Seider could accomplish in the 2027 recruiting, his first full cycle. One early name to know is Raleigh (N.C.) Rolesville running back Amir Brown.

The talented athlete was offered officially by Coach Seider and the Notre Dame staff. Brown will be making his first trip to South Bend on Wednesday. That comes after spending Tuesday checking out Ohio State.

Brown is considered a four-star player by every major recruiting platform. 247Sports ranks Brown as the No. 82 overall player, No. 4 running back, and No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina in the 2027 recruiting class. He also ranks as a top-100 player on both the On3 Industry and 247Sports Composite rankings, sitting as the No. 95 and No. 96 player respectively.

The 5-10, 200-pound runner has been demanding interest from a long list of programs so far. Some of the most impressive offers Brown holds currently include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State, Florida State, Louisville, UNC, Indiana, Maryland, Boston College, Baylor, Stanford, Duke, and UCF among others.

As a sophomore, Brown was dynamic for Rolesville. In 14 games, he rushed for 612 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 6.6 yards per carry. Brown also hauled in 15 receptions for 269 yards and two more scores.

The state of North Carolina has become very important to the Notre Dame recruiting operation. With players like Bryce Young, JaDon Blair, Micah Gilbert, and Jack Larsen already on the roster, the Irish also already holds a commitment from Thomas Davis Jr. in the 2026 class and they aren’t done yet.
