The Week 3 slate of college football will give fans three matchups between top 25 opponents, but there is one that most fans have had circled for a long time.
Meeting for just the seventh time in their illustrious histories, the No. 16 Texas A&M Aggies (2-0) will make the trip up north to take on the No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (0-1). Both teams are vying for a signature win early in the year, as the Aggies have beaten up on Group of Five opponents, while Notre Dame is searching for its first win of the season.
While ESPN Bet has the Fighting Irish as 6.5-point favorites, ESPN's Pat McAfee picked the Aggies as his "superdog" on Saturday's "College GameDay."
"I'm picking Texas A&M +6.5 against Notre Dame," McAfee said. "I like Texas A&M. It's not because I don't like Notre Dame. Mike Elko, another year there, they got a lot of experience. Why not the Aggies?"
Notre Dame won last year's meeting 23-13 in College Station and holds the overall series lead with a 4-2 record. A win for the Fighting Irish can keep them in the top 10, but a loss would almost certainly drop them out of the AP top 25.
Saturday's matchup will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and air on NBC and Peacock.
