
Julian Sayin has put the Ohio State Buckeyes on his back in his first season as the starting quarterback for head coach Ryan Day.
Sayin is accompanied by several stars in the offense such as wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, but he has clearly shown incredible leadership as an underclassman.
Sayin transferred to Ohio State from the Alabama Crimson Tide. He played his first snaps as a starting quarterback at the collegiate level this season with the Buckeyes, leading the defending national champions to an undefeated record.
As they prepare for a Week 12 matchup against the UCLA Bruins, the Buckeyes shared some good news on Sayin.
The Ohio State football quarterback has been named a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Award, given to the nation's top quarterback at the end of the season. The Davey O'Brien Foundation announced the 20 semifinalists on Wednesday.

Julian Sayin was ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 high school recruiting class. The former blue-chip prospect has taken over the Big Ten after having a previous pledge to Alabama.
Ohio State ranks as the No. 1 team in the nation, in line to have a bye week in the College Football Playoff.
In his first season as the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Julian Sayin has posted 24 touchdowns and 2,491 yards with an 80.9 completion percentage.
The remaining games on Ohio State's schedule include matchups against UCLA, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Buckeyes' biggest rival, the Michigan Wolverines.
