The Ohio State Buckeyes have to feel good coming out of Week 10. Ohio State’s win over Penn State went as expected, with the Buckeyes rolling to a 38-14 victory . Ryan Day’s squad looked the way it hoped to coming out of the bye week, which is a great sign for a team now sitting at 8-0 on the season. Saturday was also a big recruiting day for the Buckeyes — and it looks like it’s already paid off.
The Buckeyes continue to prioritize keeping the best offensive linemen in the state of Ohio home for college, and they took a big step in doing that over the weekend. Ohio State added four-star 2027 OL Kellen Wymer and three-star 2027 OL Mason Wilt, with both commitments coming on Sunday as offensive line coach Tyler Bowen added two key players for the future.

Wymer is ranked as the No. 10 interior offensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite and currently stands as Ohio State’s highest-rated offensive line recruit in the class. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman from Liberty Center, Ohio, also held offers from Auburn, Indiana, Michigan, and Notre Dame. Wilt, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman from St. Clairsville, is ranked as the No. 27 interior offensive lineman and the No. 15 player in Ohio. He held offers from programs such as Florida State, Penn State, and North Carolina.
Ohio State’s approach has been to identify the best in-state linemen early and bring them into the fold, then aim to land one or two elite national prospects each cycle. The Buckeyes haven’t always landed their top national targets recently along the offensive line, but that’s manageable when they continue to add in-state standouts like Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld, and Sam Greer — even looking ahead to the class of 2026.
With Wymer and Wilt on board, the Buckeyes are now up to five commitments early in the class of 2027. Ohio State’s win over Penn State was crucial for getting top recruits to campus — and it paid off with a pair of “booms.” The Buckeyes now turn their focus to upcoming home games against UCLA and Rutgers to close out the regular-season slate.
