The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to be in the mix for some of the top players in the 2026 college football recruiting cycle. Ohio State is on the verge of receiving another visit from the No. 1 ranked player in the 2026 class.

Head coach Ryan Day and his staff have already secured commitments from four players for 2026. Five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. headlines the group of players who are expected to head to Columbus, Ohio.

Four-star athlete Jakob Weatherspoon has also committed to joining the Buckeyes. Now, Ohio State is attempting to land another big fish.

On3.com's Steve Wiltfong reported that five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell is planning a March visit to Ohio State.

The college football news comes as the Buckeyes made it into Cantwell's top-six teams.

"Nixa (Mo.) High five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell recently named his top six of Georgia, Miami Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State and Oregon," Wiltfong wrote on Tuesday. "He’s aiming to see half of them over his spring break in March.

"Cantwell is planning to see Miami, Ohio State and Michigan the third week of March. He’ll get a chance to observe a spring practice while seeing more of each program and continuing to build on his relationships with those respective staffs."

Cantwell is the consensus No. 1 ranked offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class and Rivals.com's top rated overall player in the entire cycle. The star's projected NIL value is $730,000, per On3.
