The Ohio State Buckeyes and Colorado Buffaloes haven't played each other in football since 2011. But they appear set to contend for the same four-star quarterback on the recruiting trail.
On3's Steve Wiltfong reported Thursday that the Buckeyes are firmly in contention for quarterback Luke Fahey. But Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes are a threat to land Fahey as well.
"Indiana, Ohio State and Stanford are three in the thick of it for the Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star quarterback Luke Fahey," Wiltfong wrote. "A recent offer from Colorado has Deion Sanders and company emerging as well."
The recruiting insider argued the Big Ten schools and ACC have an edge in Fahey's recruitment for different reasons.
"Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers have a compelling situation for Fahey and have done well in this recruitment. He’s their top target," Wiltfong wrote. "The opportunity with the Cardinal program has him excited.
"Ohio State is becoming another one to watch with the Buckeyes turning it up and it being a dream school for him and his parents."
Fahey will visit Stanford first this weekend. The quarterback will then see Indiana and Ohio State during June.
Fahey will be in Columbus, Ohio on June 20.
Wiltfong didn't say whether or not the quarterback will also visit Colorado.
"The Big Ten programs have the most buzz heading into summer," concluded Wiltfong.
From the Long Beach Tournament of Champions, four-star QB Luke Fahey talks about his two favorites and Ohio State coming on with a June visit planned.
