Ohio State LB Chambers Jokes About Missed TD Chance

"That pissed me off," Chambers said. "I mean, my arm was just bent, and I knew I gave him a touchdown because Tyleik's jumping, having a good time. That kind of sucked that I heard on the sideline, but it's whatever; we got seven points."

Ohio State extended their lead to 49-10 with Williams' touchdown and ended the game on top of Western Kentucky, 63-10. Chambers said both units (offense and defense) did their part to secure the victory.

"I think we definitely showed out," Chambers said. "There are definitely times, especially early on in the game whenever we were kind of slow, but we started to ramp things up, and then we were just playing really good team ball on both sides of the ball."

Ryan Day told reporters before the start of the season that he wanted more responsibility for winning games to fall on the defense, rather than just the offense. Chambers was asked if he and his teammates were embracing this mission from their head coach.

"Absolutely," Chambers said. "We came into this year thinking that we're going to win games on defense. I think that's what we're starting to do, and sooner down the road whenever something like that happens, I think we'll be prepared for it."

Ohio State travels to South Bend, Indiana next Saturday to take on the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
