The mass exodus from the Ohio State Buckeyes football program continues. In the past 24 hours, players on both sides of the ball have announced their decision to enter the transfer portal. The program took another blow when wide receiver Julian Fleming announced his plans to enter the portal.

Fleming was the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2020 class. He never materialized as a top player due to injuries and the glut of receiver talent the Buckeyes have on the roster. In his career, he has 963 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He enters the portal with one year left of eligibility and is hoping to find a place where he can be the top wide receiver. With Fleming and Kyle McCord entering the portal and many others on the offense looking to enter the draft, Ryan Day might have to replace his whole offense.
Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka are slated to enter the draft though neither of them has made an official announcement as of now. Head coach Ryan Day is going to have his work cut out for him. The good news is that while the portal takes away many players, it also is an opportunity to get quality players as well. No doubt that Day and his staff are trying to find a quarterback in the portal with the number of them that have entered. This isn’t a great look for the program to see so many players leaving, but every team is dealing with this in one way or another.
Ohio State is going to look very different in 2024. It will be fitting as the Big Ten will be a new-look conference in 2024.
