Ohio State has an advantage that many teams just don’t have on offense and they can thank the transfer portal for it.

The Buckeyes have an offense that features two No. 1 running backs. Both TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins are starting-level running backs. That is a blessing for an offense and sometimes a challenge.

Balancing the touches between two running backs of this caliber is a task. It was one that all involved were ready to handle when the move was made last offseason. Judkins was asked if he was happy with the split in touches on Saturday and he answered in a way any good teammate would.

“Definitely,” Judkins said, via Eleven Warriors. Our coaches do such a great job at that — whoever is on the field — we're both gonna do our job."

Against Tennessee, both running back ran the ball 10 times. Henderson finished with 80 yards and Judkins had 34. For the season, Judkins has 157 carries and Henderson has 118.

Judkins ran for over 2,700 yards before coming to Ohio State in two seasons at Ole Miss. So far this season, Judkins has 839 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Henderson has 831 yards on the ground and eight touchdowns. The senior Buckeye is running the ball at seven yards per carry.

Henderson has run for 3,576 yards as a Buckeye and was all for Judkins coming to Columbus to create a one-two punch of a running back room. Ohio State is getting 168 yards per game on the ground this season.

The unselfish approach is a part of the reason the Buckeyes have created a very balanced offseason. They run the ball well and they pass the ball well. If Ohio State wants to defeat Oregon on Wednesday, they will need to be clicking on all cylinders.

Henderson and Judkins are both likely off to the NFL after this season. However, Judkins is not ready to talk about that possibility just yet.

"No, as of right now, I'm just looking forward to this game, trying to win it all."
