Ohio State Buckeyes star running back TreVeyon Henderson is an intriguing prospect to watch with the 2025 NFL draft set to begin on Thursday night.

Henderson is fresh off of a big-time season in 2024 for Ohio State, where he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. He is one player who many view as a sleeper option for teams that need running back help.

During the 2024 campaign with Ohio State, Henderson carried the football 144 times for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 7.1 yards per carry. He also caught 27 passes for 284 yards and a score through the air.

With the draft just about 48 hours away, the Buckeyes' standout has received a major new prediction.

Jordan Reid of ESPN has released a new seven-round mock draft. He has Henderson being picked up by the Chicago Bears with the No. 39 overall pick in the second round.

"Ben Johnson's offenses in Detroit were predicated on generating explosive plays, and Henderson can do that as a runner and receiver," Reid wrote. "His 7.1 yards per rush last season was the second most in the FBS. He combined for 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing and receiving."

Henderson would join forces with Caleb Williams in this scenario. They would form a long-term dynamic backfield with the Bears.

Ben Johnson would be the perfect head coach for Henderson as well. He would help fill the kind of role that Jahmyr Gibbs had under Johnson for the Detroit Lions.

There are plenty of teams who could take Henderson in the 2025 draft. Chicago is just one team to keep a very close eye on if he's around in the second round when the Bears on the clock.
