The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to face off against the Northwestern Wildcats in Week 12 of college football at Wrigley Field this Saturday afternoon. In this analysis, we'll examine the game from a betting perspective to identify the best bets.

We have the latest Ohio State vs. Northwestern betting odds, best bets, player prop options, and a prediction for you to bank on. Let's dive in.

Ohio State vs. Northwestern Betting Details

  • Odds/Point Spread: Buckeyes (-28.5) (-106)
  • Moneyline: -20000 (Ohio State)
  • Total: 43.5 (-110)

The Buckeyes enter the game with an impressive 8-1 record after a commanding 45-0 victory over Purdue in their previous outing. Following this matchup, Ohio State will return home for a significant clash against Indiana.

Ohio State vs. Northwestern Player Props to Consider

Player props are not legal in the state of Ohio, but if you're elsewhere, you might be able to find options at a daily fantasy site under the guise of going higher or lower. It's not uncommon for matchups with projected blowouts to not feature player props.

Here are player props that we found that we like.

  • Quinshon Judkins anytime TD scorer (-180)
  • Carnell Tate first TD scorer (+750)
  • Jack Lausch UNDER 118.5 passing yards (-114)
  • TreVeyon Henderson OVER 58.5 rushing yards (-114)

Ohio State vs. Northwestern Betting Prediction and Pick

Will Howard has put up some solid numbers this season, throwing for 2,237 yards with 22 touchdowns and just five interceptions, completing 74% of his passes.

On the ground, Quinshon Judkins leads the team with 647 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while TreVeyon Henderson adds 588 rushing yards and five touchdowns to the mix. Jeremiah Smith has been a standout in the receiving game with 45 catches for 765 yards and nine touchdowns, and Emeka Egbuka follows closely with 47 receptions for 587 yards and eight scores.

Carnell Tate also chipped in with 27 grabs for 405 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Sonny Styles tops the team with 57 tackles, while JT Tuimoloau leads in sacks with 5, and Denzel Burke has snagged two interceptions. Overall, Ohio State’s defense has racked up 26 sacks and seven interceptions this season.

On the flip side, the Northwestern Wildcats are coming off a win against Purdue before their bye week, winning 26-20 and sitting at 4-5. After this game, they’ll have matchups with Michigan and Illinois.

Jack Lausch has thrown for 1,120 yards, scoring five touchdowns, but has four interceptions on 53.6% passing. Cam Porter is leading the rushing game with 387 yards and six touchdowns, while Joseph Himon II has also contributed with 230 rushing yards and two scores. A.J. Henning has the most receptions on the team, with 40 for 426 yards, and Bryce Kirtz is right behind with 414 receiving yards. On defense, Mac Uihlein is the leader with 58 tackles, and Aidan Hubbard has four sacks to his name. Northwestern’s defense has combined for 19 sacks and seven interceptions this season.

I'm taking a look at the spread here. I feel like Ohio State is in a position to show its strength, especially as it is fighting for a good spot in the college football playoffs. Northwestern might sneak in a touchdown out of sympathy, but with the cold weather and the talent difference, it will be tough for them to keep up.

Ohio State vs. Northwestern Prediction: Ohio State -28.5
