Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley not interested in LSU opening?

Ever since it was learned last month that head coach Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers would part ways after the current college football season, multiple big names have been linked with that vacancy. Recently, 247Sports national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna (h/t Brad Crawford) mentioned Oklahoma Sooners coach Lincoln Riley and Jimbo Fisher of the Texas A&M Aggies as potential candidates for the LSU job.

Both have attempted to pour cold water over such rumors this week.

"I coach at the University of Oklahoma," Riley told reporters Tuesday when asked about the LSU opening, per Adam Rittenberg of ESPN. "You know how I feel about this place and this program. We've all been down this road many times before. You guys know where I stand, and that hasn't changed."

As Rittenberg notes, Riley agreed to a six-year contract said to be worth $45.2 million with Oklahoma in the summer of 2020. The Philadelphia Eagles were reportedly interested in Riley after last NFL season, but it's unknown if he's interested in leaving Oklahoma for the pro game this fall or coming winter.

Riley guided Oklahoma to College Football Playoff appearances each season from 2017-19, and he's won Big 12 titles in each of his four campaigns in charge of the program.

As for Fisher, he emphatically declared Monday he isn't going anywhere.

"We're gonna recruit an unbelievable class this year," Fisher said at that time. "So I'm the dumbest human being on God's earth to recruit all these guys to A&M so I can go across over there [to LSU] and go play against them."
