Oklahoma lands on ESPN's 'Bottom 10' after blowout loss to Texas

What do the Oklahoma Sooners (3-3, 0-3 in Big 12) have in common with Colorado, Hawaii, Fresno State and Akron? All are ranked in ESPN’s latest Bottom 10.

Brent Venables’s team checks in at No. 5 following its embarrassing 49-0 loss to Texas on Saturday.

The ranking sometimes is reserved for fluke slip-ups by a major team. In Lincoln Riley's five years at Oklahoma, the Sooners appeared three times on the dreaded list.

But Riley's teams would go on to regularly win Big 12 championships and finish in the AP poll’s final Top 10. 2022’s edition will be lucky to pick up a bowl bid. It’s possible, but they’ll have to get through the likes of red-hot Kansas and Oklahoma State.

The good news for the Sooner faithful is unseating Colorado (0-5) from the No. 1 spot looks to be extremely difficult.

But then again, OU's 117th-ranked defense might find a way for the Sooners to hit rock bottom. Yup, it's that bad.
