The Oklahoma Sooners are in a position to make a big hire here in the coming days. They should be announcing their new offensive coordinator for the 2025 season, and hopefully beyond, within the next few days, according to head coach Brent Venables himself.

Since the firing of offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, the Sooners made Joe John Finley and Kevin Johns the co and interim offensive coordinators. They have made the offense better, but it hasn't been fixed, and it won't be fixed until a new system is in place with a new coordinator.

And, that's no shot at the guys who had to fill in for the absent Littrell. After the loss to the LSU Tigers on Saturday, it was time for Joe John Finely to answer some intense questions about his future, though.

“I’m going to keep coaching hard until someone tells me not to… I know there are a lot of fans who are probably not happy with me right now and I understand that… I love my alma mater… Being here has meant everything to me and my family," Joe John Finley said.

He is keeping it real and authentic, and you have to love that about him. The Sooners may want to keep him around on the staff, who knows, but it feels like his time with the Sooners could be done. And, it feels like he may know that.

This year was just so crazy and bad, I think the Sooners and Venables may want to get that stink out of the facilities.
