The last few years, the Oklahoma Sooners have done a fantastic job of recruiting and landing guys on the defensive side of the ball, specifically on the defensive line. Guys like Jayden Jackson, David Stone, and some others have been huge gets.
The Sooners don't currently have any defensive linemen committed for the 2026 class, but we know that won't last. In fact, they are now predicted to land one, and this guy has the size to play inside or outside.
Rivals has the Sooners landing Brian Harris.

Brian Harris, a 2026 four-star defensive lineman from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, is a blue-chip recruit, which is what we call four or five-star recruits. At 6'4" and 290 pounds, he’s a versatile and athletic player who can line up as a defensive end or tackle. If he stays at the size he is now, and doesn't really grow any taller, his future position may end up being DE. But, DT is certainly in the cards.
Rivals ranks him as the No. 69 player in Florida and No. 20 defensive lineman nationally. Known for his quickness, physicality, and relentless effort, Harris recorded 29 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in just three games as a junior in 2024, despite an injury-shortened season.
Harris committed to Maryland in August 2024 but decommitted in February 2025 after the defensive coordinator left. He’s now considering Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, and South Carolina, with a commitment date set for May 23, 2025.
With 21 offers from major programs, he’s drawn to schools with strong coaching and a history of sending defensive linemen to the NFL. Oklahoma is a frontrunner, with frequent contact from their staff and a reputation for developing pros, but Michigan and Alabama are also in the mix. With Brent Venables being the head coach, guys like Harris will be attracted to the program.
Venables churns out defensive stars like nobody else, and he's one of the best defensive minds in the game.
