The 29th edition of the Manning Passing Academy is here, and the camp has finally released the full list of current college quarterbacks serving as counselors for the upcoming event.

One of those quarterbacks is Oklahoma 's new signal-caller John Mateer, who joins other SEC quarterbacks in Texas's Arch Manning, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, Ole Miss's Austin Simmons, Georgia's Gunner Stockton, and Alabama's Ty Simpson.

Many of the top quarterbacks in the NFL today such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, and recent Heisman trophy winners like Bryce Young and Jayden Daniels, are alumni of the camp, as either a high school or college athlete.

New number one overall pick Cameron Ward also attended the Manning Passing Academy. If you are a quarterback, it's the top place to be over the summer, for both the connections and experience.

This year’s event is scheduled to start on June 26 and will run through June 29 once more at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. It will once again be run by Archie Manning, Cooper Manning, Eli Manning, and Peyton Manning.

It's a fantastic opportunity for Mateer to be a part of that environment as a counselor, having the opportunity to be around some of the top quarterbacks in the country, build off of each other, learn from two of the best productive quarterbacks in NFL history, and form connections across the game.

Mateer will face off against almost every SEC quarterback at the Manning camp at some point this season, with Georgia's Gunner Stockton the lone exception (unless the Sooners make a run for the SEC title). This camp brings a good opportunity to start embracing some of that chippy competition that the best quarterbacks thrive off of.

Receiving an invite doesn't mean anything about his game translating to the NFL, but it is a good sign to see him be a part of such an awesome environment. Hopefully it's a productive one.
