The 2024 season is underway and we've already witnessed enough crazy to last us for some time. In the very first game of the season, the No. 10 ranked Florida State Seminoles lose in Ireland to Georgia Tech, as the Stingers get the upset victory, and create a new meme for FSU. As for the Oklahoma Sooners, well, they are hoping they can do something very similar -- play spoiler all year long.
No one really thinks the Sooners are going to be very good. However, they have a great roster, a great head coach, and everyone against them, so it's almost like a match made in heaven in terms of the team that no one sees coming.
But, before we get ahead of ourselves, the Sooners must first play a game, and that first game comes against an opponent they should be handling, but then again, that's what we thought about Florida State and Georgia Tech.
The Sooners have the roster to play with any team, and that includes every team in the SEC. However, it's just about who is going to start, back, and be the third string, and how much are those players going to play.
Ahead of their first game, which comes on Friday, the Sooners released their first depth chart of the season.

Immediately to me, one thing that stands out is true freshman Jayden Jackson as a starting defensive tackle. This indicates early trust in the young talent, which could be a sign of the team's depth or the exceptional talent of these freshmen.
Of course, the depth chart of the cornerback room is standing out as well, with Dez Malone being the starter on the right side across from Kani Walker and Woodi Washington being the second-string left cornerback.
As far as the offensive side, Brenan Thompson is ahead of Nic Anderson and Andrel Anthony on the depth chart for the wide receivers, with of course, Anthony still rehabbing and recovering from an injury.
There is a lot to be happy about what's to come, and the first depth chart being out is just the start of it.
