Oklahoma Sooners ringing in their SEC opener by welcoming recruits who could be future of the program
Kyle Ross-Imagn Images

Earlier this season, the Oklahoma Sooners played host to their largest recruiting weekend of all time when they hosted over 80 recruits from the 2026, 2027, and 2028 recruiting classes to see the Sooners take down the Michigan Wolverines. That win kicked off some much-needed momentum for Oklahoma, who needed a rebound after their dismal showing in 2024.

This weekend against the Auburn Tigers, the Sooners are doing much the same. While the list isn't quite as vast, they are playing host to several key recruits, including a pair of potential soon-to-be commits from the 2026 class.

The Sooners will have to deliver against what should be a tough outing against the Auburn Tigers, but key wins like this stack up in recruiting and could pay off big time down the line if Oklahoma can cash them in. What recruits are in attendance for this game?

*=Sooners Commit

Bowe Bentley has made numerous stops in Norman already, and it seems like the Oklahoma is counting on the elite quarterback recruit to be their lynchpin in their recruiting strategy. He could be a big part of their efforts in trying to flip wide receiver Brayden Allen, a Tulane commit. Additionally, a big impression is needed for linebacker Jacob Curry, as he will also visit the Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Hurricanes.

Keep an eye on these 2027 recruits, however. Oklahoma is aiming to make 2027 the best recruiting class Brent Venables has ever had, and that starts with continuing to build inroads after hosting over 50 class of 2027 recruits against Michigan. It is particularly notable that Cooper Hackett, a five-star offensive tackle currently committed to Texas Tech, is now on his second visit of the season with the Sooners. Additionally, Jaden Jefferson appears to be a potential quarterback target Oklahoma has moved to after Payton Houston's sudden shift.
