The Oklahoma State Cowboys keep rolling in the transfer portal.
Mike Gundy’s squad has picked up Miami Hurricanes safety Zaquan Patterson. He has three years of eligibility remaining. The former four-star safety had 19 tackles and three pass breakups over his 159 defensive snaps as a true freshman in 2024. He allowed four catches over eight targets in coverage for 80 yards, per Pro Football Focus.
Patterson was considering Florida and Florida State, along with OSU, in the transfer portal. And it’s welcomed news for Todd Grantham’s defense.
Patterson was a Top 100 prospect in the 2024 recruiting class out of Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood, Florida. He chose the Hurricanes over more than 20 FBS offers.
Patterson is the third defensive back Oklahoma State has picked up in the transfer portal this offseason. East Carolina cornerback Eric Fletcher and North Carolina safety Deandre Boykins have also transferred to join the Pokes.
Earlier on Thursday, Oklahoma State picked up offensive lineman Grant Seagren from Nebraska. Seagren, 6’6”, 305 lbs, played in seven games as a redshirt freshman for the Cornhuskers this past season, where he played 57 total snaps. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining as well.
