The oldest college football player in the FBS is reportedly on the move after entering the transfer portal on Monday.
East Carolina's Luke Larsen, 32, has elected to play elsewhere, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Larsen has served as the Pirates' starting punter over the last three seasons.
The Australia native and product of Prokick Australia originally signed with East Carolina under head coach Mike Houston in 2020. Larsen appeared in five games in the shortened season, punting 13 times with a 41.2-yard average and with three punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Larsen backed up Jonn Young in 2021 and appeared in one game with five punts and two downed inside the 20-yard line.
Larsen took over the starting role in 2022, appearing in all 13 games. He punted 44 times for a 40.4-yard average with three touchbacks and 14 punts landed inside the 20-yard line. Larsen also served as place holder on point after attempts and field goals.
Larsen continued in the role in 2023, posting career highs in punts (60) and punts downed inside the 20-yard line (19) with a 40.9-yard average and one touchback in 11 games. He entered the 2024 season as a Fourth-Team Preseason All-AAC selection by Phil Steele Magazine.
