Ole Miss Beats Out Alabama & Georgia for Four-Star WR
Brett Davis-Imagn Images

The Ole Miss football team may be hitting a bit of a rebuild period, or at the least, a harsh transition as they move on from one of the most talented rosters in program history. The Rebels lost 18 starters from last year's 10-win team either to the NFL Draft or the transfer portal.

New quarterback Austin Simmons will have his hands full, as the team's run game has question marks, and the Rebels lost star receiver Tre Harris. The team also lost tight end Cade Prieskorn and receivers Jordan Watkins and Juice Wells Jr., which means they will have to rebuild their pass-catching unit.

Head coach Lane Kiffin has become one of the best recruiters of transfers in the country, and he is gaining more traction on the high school trail. He landed another elite talent on Friday, as Hayes Fawcett reported that four-star 2026 receiver Corey Barber had committed to Ole Miss.

Barber had numerous offers, and picked the Rebels over SEC foes Alabama and Georgia, as well as historic programs like Miami. At just under 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, the Birmingham, Alabama, native should be able to make an instant impact for the Rebels.

He will join a 2026 recruiting class that boasts several highly-touted recruits, which should give Ole Miss fans a sense of optimism for the future of the program.
