Ole Miss QB Matt Corral 'not in very good shape' to play vs. LSU?

Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Matt Corral had a day to remember in guiding his team to a 31-26 win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. Corral completed 21-of-38 passes for 231 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, and he also rushed for 195 yards on 30 attempts.

According to Alex Scarborough of ESPN, however, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin told reporters Monday his signal-caller is questionable to play in this coming Saturday's game against the LSU Tigers.

"He's not in very good shape and hasn't been for the last two days," Kiffin said of Corral. "Hopefully he'll play, but I do not feel good about that right now."

As David Ubben noted for The Athletic, Kinkead Dent is currently listed second on the Ole Miss depth chart behind Corral. Dent has attempted only four passes this season.

For what it's worth, LSU coach Ed Orgeron told reporters Monday he is not buying what Kiffin is allegedly selling via his latest injury report.

"Knowing Coach Kiffin, he's throwing me a smokescreen," Orgeron said of Corral.

Per Jake Thompson of The Oxford Eagle, Corral admitted to rolling his ankle in Saturday's victory. "It’s a little stinger. Like, it went dead for a second like a stinger. But yeah, I was good after," the Heisman Trophy candidate said this past weekend.
