One Of Ohio State’s Greatest Players Has A Touching Goodbye To Tony Alford
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

In a shocking turn of events this week, Ohio State’s running back coach, Tony Alford, left the program for their biggest rival, Michigan.

Ohio State Players Took To Social Media To Say Goodbye

Many Ohio State players took to social media to give their thoughts on the topic, and cornerback Denzel Burke tweeted a bunch of thumb-down emojis, which I’m sure was all in fun. Still, one of the players Alford worked with the most had a very touching tribute to his former coach.

Running back TreVeyon Henderson, who Alford coached, posted on X on Friday, saying goodbye to his former coach. He said, “I am so thankful that God allowed us to cross paths. God got you, coach. Love You. “

Henderson Decided To Come Back To Ohio State This Season

Henderson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school in 2021, and Alford was a considerable reason Henderson came to Ohio State.

Henderson had a huge decision this offseason: whether to go to the NFL or return for his senior season. He decided to return to the Buckeyes for one more year, making many people happy, including Alford.

It stinks that Alford left for Michigan, but at the same time, Alford has to do what is best for him and his family, and if Michigan was a better spot for him, then he had to make the move.

The Buckeyes Have A Loaded Running Back Room

Ohio State has a loaded running back room for 2024 with Henderson, Ole Miss transfer Quinshon Judkins, and young running back Dallan Hayden

Whoever Ohio State hires to be their next running back coach will have a great room to work with.
