The Oregon Ducks haven't had the best time on the recruiting trail lately.

Dan Lanning has been questioned as his 2026 class isn't shaping out like many expected.

With the NIL money rolling through Eugene, the Ducks have been able to land supreme talent in recent seasons.

Coming off a 13-1 campaign -- winning the Big Ten and making the College Football Playoffs -- Oregon has quite a pitch to recruits.

Not only is the money there, but Lanning is building the on-field success to back up the talent he's been able to land.

Still, he's whiffed on a few high-level recruits as of late.

Currently, Oregon's 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 14 overall. This doesn't quite compare to their No. 2 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle.

There' plenty of time for Lanning to bounce back, however, and he took one step closer to doing so on Saturday.

Oregon landed a commitment from elite 2026 edge rusher Richard Wesley. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Los Angeles, CA, product chose the Ducks over Texas, Ohio State and Texas A&M.

"Elite 2026 EDGE Richard Wesley has Committed to Oregon," Hayes Fawcett shared on X.

According to On3, the edge rusher ranks No. 24 nationally and is the No. 4-ranked player at his position.

Adding Wesley to their class will certainly bump their ranking and give them a massive defensive line win, winning out over some elite programs.

Lanning and Oregon needed a win on the recruiting trail, and securing the edge rusher is exactly that.

Ducks fans can be pleased after the program didn't strike out once again, landing an elite recruit to add to the 2026 class.
