Oregon Ducks pulled off an offseason feat that no other school in college football was able to do this year

We know that Dan Lanning has been doing some serious work on the recruiting trail for the Oregon Ducks. The 2025 recruiting class was a strong one, and Oregon currently has the top-ranked recruiting class for next year's cycle. We also know that Lanning crushed it in the transfer portal, addressing key needs on the roster with the best talent available.

What he was able to do this offseason, no other team did. Lanning and the Ducks were one of only five programs to finish with a top-10 recruiting and transfer portal class, but even more so, they were the only school to finish top-5 in both.

Lanning's ability to blend long-term vision with immediate production is an art. Yes, the recruiting class for 2025, highlighted by an elite trio of defensive backs and the nation's No. 1 wide receiver in Dakorien Moore, has the potential to yield difference makers as soon as this season, but Lanning identifying what the roster needs in order to be competitive this season and being able to do fill those needs is an incredible feat.

The Ducks landed the No. 1 running back available in Makhi Hughes, the No. 1 overall player in offensive tackle Isaiah World, and the No. 1 safety in the portal in Dillon Thieneman. They added much more than that, bringing in a slew of talented players that have the ability to keep Oregon competitive in the immediate future.

Lanning is building a machine in Eugene that keeps on trucking. He's doing everything the right way. On the heels of an incredibly successful first season in the Big Ten, Lanning and the Ducks are knocking at the door to get the program's first National Championship.
