Oregon continues to lead for five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho—and his commitment timeline might be speeding up.
The 6-foot-6, 345-pound lineman out of Georgetown Prep (Bethesda, MD) wrapped up a key official visit to Eugene over the weekend, and by all accounts, the Ducks remain firmly in front of LSU, Penn State, and Auburn in the race for his signature.
Iheanacho, who had initially set an August 5 commitment date, is now strongly considering moving that up to July 4, according to Duck Territory on 247Sports.
“If I do, it will probably be July 4,” Iheanacho said about potentially announcing early. “But I am not sure.”
The towering offensive tackle—known for his rare frame, 36-inch arms, and dominant punch at the point of attack—has long been considered one of the most physically gifted linemen in the 2025 class.

Oregon’s staff has built strong relationships with both Iheanacho and his family, and his comments following the visit suggest a growing comfort with the program and its direction under Dan Lanning.
Despite strong efforts from SEC and Big Ten powers, Oregon has held steady at the top, unsurprisingly.
Iheanacho’s body language and remarks following his trip indicate a level of confidence that’s hard to ignore.
With decision day now possibly just days away, the Ducks could soon be celebrating the addition of one of the most coveted offensive linemen in the country—one with true day-one starter potential at the Power Five level.
For Dan Lanning and his Oregon staff, landing a five-star anchor like Iheanacho would mark a signature win in the trenches—against multiple SEC and Big Ten contenders.
