Former Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson has left the building, hoping to hear his name called early in the 2025 NFL Draft. After great showings at the Senior Bowl and at the NFL Scouting Combine, he has every opportunity to do so.

With Ferguson no longer in Eugene, it's time for Kenyon Sadiq to step up. According to Sadiq, he's ready and eager for the challenge, and it sounds like his coaches expect huge things from him.

"Ferg left his legacy, and I'm chasing it every day. The standard he set, but also the records that Ferg left here. Every day I remind myself that those are the goals," Sadiq said. "About every record he has under the tight end category. The standard is high, and going in there and living up to the standard and elevating it too."

"He's one of the best humans I've ever met, so just reaching that goal he's set," Sadiq continued. "I want people to see my name on those leaderboards and stuff and remember who I was."

According to his coaches, the expectations for Sadiq entering this season appears to be quite high.

"Kenyon Sadiq is one of the best players in the country," Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein said. "Glad we have him back. It's my job to make sure he's getting as many touches as we can, every single game. He's put on like 15 pounds of muscle. He's nearing 250, and still looks the same speed."

Stein continued to rave about the weapon that Sadiq is and the expectation for him entering this season.

"I think he's a better point of attack on the ball tight end that people might believe just because he's so dang strong, and now he's got a great understanding of what we're doing offensively. So now he's really in the limelight," Stein continued. "He is the upper classman in that room. He's kind of the old head. Another guy, talk about leadership, Kenyon, somebody that I'm expecting to be one of those leaders on our team. He provides so much value in the pass game, in the run game, RPOs, he's a very special player. I really do believe he's one of the best players in college football. So it's my job, it's our job, to make sure he shows that ability this season."

Sadiq is an explosive athlete and flashed his insane upside last year. If he's expecting to take a major step to rival Ferguson's career numbers, then he'll need to take advantage of the opportunities that it sounds like Stein is prepared to give him.
